Overseas PhD Scholar, Mr. Asfandyar Khan, Successfully Defended his PhD Thesis



Overseas PhD Scholar of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Mr. Asfandyar Khan, successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled 'The problems of Theory of Thermal Elastic diffusion with chemical reactions' at National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University, Tomsk, Russian Federation, which is counted among the finest universities of the world. 

His thesis was supervised by Professor. Dr Knyazeva Anna Georgievna the recipient of Lavrentyev Prize in Mathematics and Mechanics. His external examiner was Prof. Dr Psakhie G. Sergei, a well-known scientist and director of the institute of Strength Physics and Material Science, Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Science, Prof Dr. Smolin A.Yu and Associate Professor Dr. Lunev G.Aleksey of institute of Strength Physics and Material Science Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Science, while his internal examiner was Associate Professor Dr. Korostelyova Elena Nikolaevna , Associate Professor Dr.Efremenkov Egor Alekseevich and Associate Professor Dr. Sorokova Svetlana Nikolaevna Institute of High Technology Physics and Mechanical Engineering Tomsk Polytechnic University. 

During his PhD he published SIX papers in international journals, and attends and talks in FIVE international conferences.

Mr. Asfandyar Khan was awarded overseas PhD scholarship, on March 18, 2013, by AWKUM for Tomsk Polytechnic University, Russian Federation, in the subject area of Mathematics. His PhD course started in September 2013 and in less than 4 years he has been able to complete his PhD under the umbrella of Faculty Development Programme.

The Vice-Chancellor, Dean Faculty of Sciences, Registrar, Chairman Department of Mathematics and all the administrative officers of the University congratulated Mr. Asfandyar Khan on his remarkable accomplishment.
