Department
of Sociology organized a sensitization seminar on "Obstacles to Polio Eradication Process in Mardan" on 5th January 2018 at Main Campus AWKUM.
Coordinator
of main campus Dr. Syed Rashid Ali welcomed the guest speakers and all the
participants.
The
Seminar was Unique in its nature as two scholars and one field expert were the
guest speakers. Mr. Muhammad Zahid lecturer in Sociology presented his M.Phil
study on the issue. Mr. Zia ur Rahman,
Teaching Assistant from Bacha Khan University Charsadda shared his findings regarding
religious scholars perspective about polio vaccine and polio eradication .Mr.
Bakht Zaman from UNICEF briefed the participants about role of UNICEF in polio
combating activities.
At
the end, the students asked questions which were very nicely responded by the
scholars. The event ended with concluding remarks and vote of thanks by Dr.
Hussain Ali.
